Parents education along with studnets achievment

Parents’ education is one of the most important factors influencing child’s achievement motivation.
Highly educated parents have greater success in providing their children with the cognitive and language skills that contribute to early success in school. The relationship of parents’ education to their children’s achievement motivation in academic area is meditated by parents’ beliefs and behaviors are likely to be influenced by their educational experiences and how these parental beliefs and behaviors actually influence children’s achievement motivation in academic area.
Time, effort, and commitment to build a strong parental involvement program are indeed offset by the improvement in students’ academic performance and attitude toward learning.
Lack of parents’ educational qualification has negative impact on student achievement, they need to assist student at home and assess educational needs of their children.

  1. There are probably hundreds of factors that affect the academic achievement of the student: social, economic, familial, medical, relationships, school, etc. Parent’s involvement helps in motivating students and helps in improving their educational performance. There are many factors affecting parental involvement, like the educational level of the parents. Parents who are illiterate or have reached low educational levels find it hard to be involved in educating their students. Those parents will face many difficulties as students grows up and reach higher educational levels, thus the level of support and the value of guiding their children will be reduced. Another factor plays an important role in parental involvement it is the job kind. Parents who work as engineer carry different perspective toward life than parent who works as farmer. The income will be different, and thus the economic status will be also different. This difference will affect the ability of parents to provide their children with the basic needs.

  2. Parents who are educated raise children to have healthy self-perceptions when it comes to their academic abilities, engage them in intellectual activities that help them develop a healthy attitude about learning and generally have children with fewer behavioral problems that may hinder their learning experiences.

  3. Parents' education can influence children's educational level and also their outcomes. And according to the study that we have done in the sociology class showed that parents with higher educational levels have stronger confidence in their child's academic abilities, and they also have higher expectations of their child and that confidence makes him more likely to succeed. If the parents attend ongoing education classes and taking him to the library and in activities, they are engaging him in a number of experiences that will help him value achievement and success.

  4. Based on the study done, it has been estimated that parent’s educational level can highly affect their children academic performance, where high achievers belong to high parental educational level and low achievers belong to low parental educational level. This is due to that educated parents will prepare their children better for school and provide them with best resources and environment to achieve success.

  5. I have wrote something and like this because it is a very important topic and many teachers are suffering from the level of education of the parents. We have studied and researched this issue in the sociology course and all of the studies showed the relation between the parent' s education with their kid's achievement level. When the parents are educated they have the ability to teach and help their kids in their studying. In the same time we can find kids who are very brilliant and have uneducated family. Giftedness and intelligence play a role too.

  6. True. Most of us have made a research on this, and I think that the majority agree with you. The findings of my study and other researchers supported the notion that parent's education is one of the most important factors that influence child's achievement motivation. Educated parents can help their children to succeed not only academically, but emotionally and intellectually as well.
